Dryer Vent Installation & Repair
If your dryer vent is damaged or not functioning properly, it can lead to poor dryer performance and safety hazards. Our dryer vent repair services are designed to address these issues and ensure that your dryer vent is working safely and efficiently.
When a dryer cannot exhaust air properly, you have to run the dryer longer to get your clothes dry. That costs you more to run your dryer and it means it takes you longer to finish your laundry. You need to have proper air flow out of your dryer, through the vent duct and through the outside vent cap to get maximum cost reduction and speed of drying. Clogged dryer vent runs also create more backed up heat in the dryer which is bad on parts, as well as hot clothes which can be damaging to them.
Dryer vents are not only a risk to your dryer and your wallet. When lint builds up in your dryer vent, it blocks the flow of air from the dryer to the outside exhaust vent. This can cause flammable clothes lint to blow back into the dryer cabinet. Dryer fires can happen if this lint is blown onto the heating element. By having your dryer vent cleared of any lint or debris, you lessen the likelihood of a dryer fire.
Like any other part of your home’s duct system, dryer vents are vulnerable to damage that can impede proper functioning and decrease efficiency. Leaks in the ducts, incorrect joint connections or improper vent materials can cause considerable issues with your dryer, including energy loss, mold infestations, carbon monoxide leaks and even house fires. The dryer vent and ductwork should always remain both clean and intact to avoid health and safety risks and ensure maximum performance.
At United Home Services, our team of certified technicians have the tools and expertise to properly clean and repair your dryer vents so they remain in optimal working condition. We have served thousands of satisfied customers across the country and helped them achieve better energy-efficiency, dryer performance and air quality in their homes. If your dryer is not ventilating as it should and you suspect you may need cleaning or repairs, give us a call and we can help you too!

Tips for Dryer Vent Maintenance
Your Reliable Choice
Your dryer vent is responsible for venting hot, moist air out of your home. A clogged or improperly installed dryer vent can lead to reduced efficiency, higher energy bills, and even fire hazards. Here are some tips to help you take care of your dryer vent:
- Have your dryer vent inspected and cleaned annually by a professional technician
- Clean the lint trap after every use
- Keep the area around your dryer clear of debris and combustible materials
- Avoid running your dryer when you're not home or sleeping
- If you notice any signs of reduced airflow or longer drying times, contact a professional for an inspection.
- Use a rigid metal or semi-rigid metal duct for your dryer vent, as flexible ducts are more prone to clogs and kinks

Identifying and Assessing a Dryer Vent Clog
All Work Gurranteed
Dryer vents clog when enough lint accumulates in the system to cause a blockage. Dryer vent ducts can clog in a variety of ways depending on the nature of your duct system. For example, a long dryer vent run will clog quicker because the lint has too far to go. It clogs toward the end of the run first, where the airflow is slower.
Secondly, when there are bends or curves in the vent, lint will inevitably build up around them. If the transition hose is crushed from the back of the dryer that connects to the ductwork, you get less airflow, which can also clog your vent. On the outside of your home, there is a termination vent where lint commonly builds up and creates a clog.
If your dryer isn’t working as well as it should and you suspect you may have a clogged vent, our team of certified technicians would be happy to track down the clog and eliminate it to increase your dryer performance and energy-efficiency.
